Three cheers for financial literacy!

At Enka Middle School, we had a highly engaged group of parents attend the family night. Focusing on finances, parents learned how to create monthly budgets for their families to help them keep better track of their finances and stretch their dollars each month.

One of the presenters was Esteve Coll-Larrosa, from Self-Help Credit Union in Asheville.

Highlands Circle has partnered with Lenior-Rhyne Graduate Studies

Highlands Circle has partnered with Lenior-Rhyne Graduate Studies to help you get a discounted tuition rate on your graduate education! Lenoir-Rhyne will offer Highlands Circle members a discount on all credits taken in the Graduate Studies program. 

In the first year of the partnership, members receive a 10% discount that is then adjusted each year based on total number of credit hours taken by the Highlands Circle members the previous year. 


February 11 – a day we celebrate as national 2-1-1 day!

2-1-1 is a service that provides help when people need it most.  Anyone looking for community, health or human service resources can dial 2-1-1 to connect with a network of over 18,000 resources right here in North Carolina.

A call to NC 2-1-1 is free, confidential, and available all day, every day and in most languages.

Highlands Circle Spotlight: Michael Cortes

Update: Congratulations to Marilyn and Michael Cortes on the arrival of their daughter!  Look how proud big brother is!

Michael Cortes, one of our Highlands Circle members, is a commercial banker with TD Bank. He has lived in Asheville for 5 years. He and his wife Marilyn and have a 3 year old son, William, and a daughter who will be born this February.
