When you choose to give through United Way’s Community Investment Fund, you join with others - in a collective action - to effect real change in the areas of Education, Income and Health, NC 2-1-1 - Asheville Center, Hands On Asheville-Buncombe and our Middle School Success initiative.
Your dollars are invested by knowledgeable volunteers who understand the needs in our community and strategic goals we have set in the areas of Education, Income and Health. All funded community partners' programs are reviewed to ensure they are well run, deliver measurable benefits to their clients and align with United Way’s strategic community priorities.
GIVE In the Workplace
Many donors give through their workplace, as United Way partners with many local and national employers to hold workplace giving campaigns each year. If your employer participates with United Way, talk to your CEO or Human Resources Department and ask how to make a donation.

If your company does not participate in a United Way campaign, you can still make a donation. You can either

GIVE Securities
Gifts of appreciated securities can be deducted at their full market value from your adjusted gross income. Such gifts also avoid the liability for capital gains tax, thus providing you with a double tax benefit. Check with your tax advisor to know what your tax benefits will be.
