From our advocacy partners at the Success Equation:
We believe all children deserve a healthy start and access to quality care.
In NC, over one million children have access to health care through coverage via Medicaid and NC Health Choice. For weeks, a small group of US Senators have been crafting a health care bill behind closed doors. Yesterday, they finally released their plan and it would drastically reduce Medicaid funding and leave many NC children without health insurance. It will likely reduce benefits for those children that remain - jeopardizing access to high-quality health insurance, particularly the most vulnerable children such as those with disabilities and those in foster care. We can do better.
TAKE ACTION: Call* the offices of Senators Burr and Tillis with the simple message: "Do not vote for any bill that will reduce insurance coverage for NC children, including cuts to Medicaid." A vote is likely soon, so don't delay!
Senator Richard Burr: 202-224-3154
Senator Thom Tillis: 202-224-6342

*Have phone call anxiety? Don't let that stop you from being an advocate. Your calls will be answered by staff or voicemail and you will literally be leaving a message - not having to debate the issues or answer questions. If you really don't want to talk to a person, try calling after business hours and just leave a voicemail. Whatever you do, make sure your identify yourself and that you're calling from NC. Thanks!
