We are proud to announce that our newest community project, Homework Diners, will be supported through a People In Need Grant from The Community Foundation of WNC. Their investment will go a long way to ensure that we will be able to provide a free, fresh and healthy, weekly meal at three local middle schools in the coming year. These Homework Diners are an opportunity to bring students, families and their community together for fellowship over food, and provide an opportunity for students to get academic support from school staff and community volunteers. In addition, parents and community members will have a chance to take part in additional educational opportunities of their own as various service providers and nonprofits host workshops and training sessions on issues ranging from health and wellness to literacy and credit counseling.  Each Homework Diner is held at one of three middle schools - Erwin, Enka and Asheville Middle but each is open to community members within each school district.
