Unique Opportunities for Young Professionals to Give Back
Highlands Circle is a network of passionate young professionals who are actively seeking ways to give, advocate and volunteer to make positive and long-lasting change in Asheville and Buncombe County. Through professional development, educational opportunities, volunteerism and networking events, Highlands Circle helps connect members to United Way and their community. Welcome, Future Highlands Circle Member
Welcome! Whether you're already a Highlands Circle member or simply exploring, we're glad you're here.
As a young professional seeking a convenient way to give back to my community I was so excited when I discovered Highlands Circle.
We are a group of passionate professionals under the ago of 40 working together to make a lasting impact in Asheville and Buncombe County to reduce disparities in income, health, and education. We do this through networking, learning, volunteering, and giving - together.
This year we are focusing on the Middle School Success Initiative.
Did you know that in our community, children who live in poverty graduate from high school at an average rate of 80% while their classmates graduate at a rate of 89%? Research suggests that intervention at the middle grades increases the odds of a student graduating from high school.
Whether you're volunteering at a Homework Diner, mentoring a middle schooler, or collecting and packaging backpacks for the annual school supply drive, you can help United Way achieve its vision of creating success-ready 9th graders and increasing graduation rates in Asheville and Buncombe County.
Together we can support students and their families and strengthen our community. I'm excited to be a part of the Middle School Success movement. Join me to Give and Live United!
