Women United provides three kinds of events to help our members develop strong relationships among each other, and their community.

  • Volunteerism - get involved with our work and our community. Women United supports the work of our Middle School Success Inititive in two important ways:
    • Homework Diners - weekly homework help and healthy meals for students, families and community members within three school districts. Eventually we will host special Women United run Homework Diners, but in the meantime you can still join in and have some fun. Click here to learn more and sign up.
    • Who Got You Through? That's the question we ask everyone to ask of themselves. Many of us needed the help of someone from outside our immediate family - a friend, coach, pastor or neighbor - some caring adult who stuck beside us when times were tough or to celebrate when things went well. You can be that person for a child in our community. Click here to learn more and sign up.
  • Education Events - take a deeper dive on issues within our community. In a recent session Buncombe County Schools shared information about students who are homeless and the services being assembled to help their families.
  • Networking Socials - these events usually take place after five at area hotspots and provide everyone an opportunity to connect to other like-minded philanthropic and engaged women in our community.

Please contact beth.benzing@unitedwayabc.org or call (828) 239-1048 if you would like to host or sponsor an event.
