Here at United Way we talk a fair amount about our Leadership Givers - donors who make a commitment to give $1,000 or more a year toward our Community Investment Fund. Many of them give much more than that $1,000 and a good many also give a lot of their time as volunteers and advocates.
Did you know that collectively this group of donors contribute close to half of all the dollars raised every year in our community? That is huge!
Every year we celebrate their considerable impact on our community at our annual Leadership Giving Appreciation Reception. Here are some photos from this year's event, held last week at Pack's Tavern. If you ever need an event that runs smoothly - be sure to contact Mary Evans she can make it happen!
Thank you to our Leadership Giving Underwriters who help to make this, and all our Leadership events, possible: Dixon Hughes Goodman, Mission Health, Northwestern Mutual. Also a shoutout to Ric Davenport at FastSigns for his donation of our beautiful new Leadership Giving banner!
And finally a thought about Leadership. It is 100% true that our impact in the community would not be as great without this group of Leadership Givers. It is also 100% true that every last one of us, regardless of our means or position, have the capacity to be transformational leaders. We saw this video (below), a TED talk, titled "Lollipop Moments" about everyday leadership and thought you'd appreciate it just as much as we did.
So on that note - thanks to everyone who contibutes to the fabric of our community through their own brand of leadership - great and small!
