Family Volunteer Day is November 22. Members of The Peaks Society and Highlands Circle were invited to bring friends and family members to MANNA FoodBank to celebrate the start of National Family Week. The group demonstrated the power of families who volunteer together, supporting their neighborhoods, communities and the world. Oh, and they also filled up two pallets of rice bags for food insecure families in western North Carolina.
The evening served as a kick-off to the holiday season with giving and service. Families that volunteer together not only address community social problems, but also strengthen themselves. Volunteering together as a family provides quality time, strengthens family communication and provides opportunities for family members to be role models.
