Western North Carolina accounting firm Johnson Price Sprinkle (JPS) was presented the Spirit of North Carolina award during United Way of North Carolina’s Annual Meeting in Pinehurst.
“We are so proud of JPS and all of the great organizations who support Asheville and Buncombe County. We live in one of the greatest places where businesses, government and nonprofits come together to build a strong community,” says David Bailey, President/CEO of United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County. “For JPS to be recognized statewide shows how much they support making this a wonderful place to live and work for everyone.”
The Spirit of North Carolina Awards are presented annually by United Way of North Carolina. The awards recognize companies and organizations from across the state that have demonstrated commitment and support to their community through local United Way involvement. Businesses, professional and nonprofit organizations, governmental entities, healthcare and educational institutions are nominated to receive a Spirit of North Carolina award because they are champions of change, raise their voice to share the story of their community, volunteer their time and expertise, and invest resources.
Organizations and companies were judged on a variety of criteria including leadership giving, volunteerism, employee participation and giving levels, year-round education, and corporate support.
