Members of Highlands Circle and their friends got together at Sovereign Remedies to celebrate spring's arrival and announce the group's new annual project, a collaboration with Homeward Bound's Pathway to Permanent Housing. Throughout the year, they'll collect essentials—furniture, towels, toilet paper, garbage cans, shower curtains, etc.—to fully stock a permanent home so a family can transition out of homelessness. You can view a move-in checklist and help us gather items.
Members also brought items to be included in personal care kits for homeless students and their families. We collected 30 sticks of deodorant, 23 toothbrushes, 23 tubes of toothpaste, two bars of soap, one pack of diapers and one pack of tampons! We also collected $78 in our raffle to purchase supplies for kits for homeless students and their families at Enka Middle Community School.
