We've got some exciting news to share. Actually, make that double exciting!
For the second year, Barnes & Noble has selected us as a recipient of a Bookfair. From November 28 (the Saturday after Thanksgiving) until December 4, a percentage of all sales at brick-and-mortar locations and on BN.com will be donated to United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County when you use voucher code 11657244.
(There will be activities for kids and adults!)
It's the perfect chance to purchase holiday gifts such as DVDs, educational toys, games, CDs, books and more. Since the code is valid at all locations and online, please be sure to share with family and friends. You can even print vouchers with the number on them by clicking here.
Book Drive Through December 31
Throughout the months of November and December, Barnes & Noble Booksellers at the Asheville Mall is hosting a book drive so customers can donate books to children in need. We'll collect the books at the end of the month and get them to kids in Asheville and Buncombe County. You can help give the gift of literacy by simply visiting the location located on 3 South Tunnel Road, Suite D-8, in Asheville. This is the second year of this partnership, too.
There is a table display near the registers with books and games that are the most requested (you can also view the list online). Just let an employee know which gifts you'd like to purchase; they'll ring them up and make sure we receive them by the beginning of December. The gifts will be distributed along with items collected during our annual Holiday Gift Drive for Middle School Students.
Hopefully, this becomes a treasured tradition and a wonderful way to give the gift of reading to smiling faces. Only items purchased at the Asheville Mall location will be sent to United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County. If you're unable to visit that location, you can still drop off unwrapped gifts at our office on 50 South French Broad Avenue in downtown Asheville.
Thanks, Barnes & Noble!
We are excited to continue this partnership and the opportunity to connect area kids with books. Many local charities that distribute holiday gifts find that middle school youth fall off the radar when people are making their donations. There are many reasons, but one is that this age can be a tough to shop for. Coupled with the Holiday Gift Drive for Middle School Students, these two events will ensure we reach as many families as possible this year.
As you're shopping throughout the year, please keep in mind our partnerships with Amazon, Hertz and You Get We Give. Each of these companies supports our work when you do business with them.
