Endowment
The HumanCare Endowment is a special fund, separate from the
annual campaign, which gives United Way the ability to plan
for the future. No matter what changes occur in our world,
we can depend on the Endowment to help our community continue
caring for those who will need help tomorrow. The HumanCare
Endowment is a vital resource to meet our community’s
needs.
Rationale for HumanCare Endowment
Our annual campaign has barely kept up with inflation over
the past ten years, while community needs continue to grow
and change. These factors have created a gap in our ability
to fully fund all programs and address emerging needs. Our
Endowment provides our committed donors the opportunity to
leave a legacy to our community knowing it will help families
for generations to come. If a donor provides for United Way
in their will, and maintains his or her current gift, our ability
to change lives is greatly increased. Expanding funds provide
for emerging needs and prepares United Way for emergency needs
such as natural disasters and other crises.
Outright gifts, bequests, life income gifts, insurance and
retirement plans are all examples of ways donors can support
the HumanCare Endowment and help meet their individual financial
and tax needs.
