United Way’s Hands On Asheville-Buncombe, Middle School Success and NC 2-1-1 Asheville Center are working together to make the back-to-school transition easier for area families. Hands On, the volunteer center of United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County, is already busy collecting back packs, school supplies and other items to help Buncombians send their children to school prepared. Last year’s drive helped to support 738 elementary and middle school students.
