Armed Forces Emergency Services
Offers a worldwide communications service between members of the U.S. armed forces and their families during times of family crisis.

Community Volunteer Services
Offers volunteer opportunities for all ages including blood services, disaster services, health and safety services, and financial development. A language bank is also provided by volunteer interpreters.

Disaster Services
Provides prompt relief for victims of disasters ranging from house fires to blizzards, floods, and hurricanes, including food, shelter, clothing, case management, and damage assessment as needed.

Health and Safety Services
Provides educational training courses such as first aid, CPR, automated external defibrillator (AED), swimming, life guarding, home health care, back injury prevention, baby sitting, pet first aid, prevention of disease transmission, including HIV/AIDS.

Augmented Case Management
Provides services to persons with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities.

Special Assistance to Individuals
Provides help to individuals with special needs (those diagnosed with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities) who need immediate assistance with meeting their basic needs in times of emergency or crisis.

Crisis Unit Case Management

Eye Care
Provides free screenings for glaucoma and vision, offers Diabetes screening for $1.00 (fasting required), recycles used eyeglasses, provides eye glasses and eye exams to low-income residents in our community, and provides vision re-screenings to all schools in Buncombe County.

Angels Watch
Provides short term respite care for children ages infant to six whose families are temporarily unable to care for them due to emergency or crises.

Cornerstone
Provides transitional care for girls ages 16-21 who are moving from an institutional or foster care setting toward independent living as adults.

CrossRoads Day Treatment
Provides highly structured day treatment program serving youth who have been suspended or expelled from school and adjudicated by the Juvenile Court.

Home-Based Services for Juvenile Sex Offenders
Provides in-home counseling, case management, and support to families referred by the juvenile court system. 

PERCS or Proactive Enhanced Rapid Crisis Services
Provides short-term emergency care for up to six youths age 18 or younger who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect.

Project Home Base
Project Home Base is a family preservation/reunification program.  Staff work with families in their homes, usually for 10 – 12 weeks, with the goal of building on family strengths to change the necessary systems to help change the child's behavior.

Respite Scholarship
Provides quality respite care for children with serious emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs and their families. 

Trinity Place
Provides short-term, emergency shelter for up to six youths (ages 7 to 17) who are homeless or have run away.

Crisis Intervention, Assessment & Counseling
Provides crisis intervention, assessment, and counseling services for children and their families following the disclosure of abuse.

Personal Safety Education
Educates and empowers children to recognize, resist, and report abuse, reaching children in Buncombe County in Kindergarten through fourth grade.

Community Education & Engagement
Provides leadership to improve the lives of children, youth and their families in Buncombe County. Services include educating elected officials and community members on children’s issues through an annual Child Watch tour, a Lecture Series, and legislative advocacy. Also teaches under-represented groups the skills to advocate for themselves.

Family Resource Centers
Strengthens local families in the Emma community by educating & supporting parents, meeting basic needs (food, clothing, housing/utilities), providing educational and enrichment experiences for children and engaging residents in community problem solving & planning.

Project MARCH
Supports the academic success of at-risk students in three low wealth communities, with a focus on homework assistance, enrichment activities, and increasing parental involvement.

Resource Coordination
Provides information and case assistance helping adults age 60 and older and their caregivers to identify individual needs and programs and services best suited to meet those needs.

Seniors Safe at Home
Provides direct services that support independent living in the home,  including transportation, Personal Emergency Response Units, Minor Home Repair, Weatherization Access, Medicare Counseling, and 9-1-1 Cell Phones.

Girls on the Run
Prevention program for 3rd – 8th graders that encourages self-respect and healthy living by focusing on the unique challenges faced by adolescent girls. The 14-week program combines training for a non-competitive 5k (3.1 miles) running event with uplifting, self-esteem enhancing team exercise activities and a community service project.

Court Advocacy for Victims of Domestic Violence
Staff assist victims of domestic violence in developing a safety plan, filing for and obtaining a legal order of protection, and preparing for their civil cases. 

Crisis Counseling for Victims of Domestic Violence
Provides counseling services for victims of domestic violence, including a 24-hour crisis line, individual counseling and support groups.

Emergency Shelter
Offers short-term, emergency shelter for battered women and their children, where residents can participate in support groups and access emergency food, clothing and transportation.

Preventing Domestic Violence
Offers professional training and public education in recognizing, treating, and preventing domestic violence.

MANNA Packs for Kids – MANNA FoodBank’s backpack Program - helps to assure that children at risk of hunger over the weekend are provided with supplemental food items, fresh fruits and vegetables, and personal care products. 

Food Distribution and Nutrition Services to Agencies
The FoodBank solicits donated food from individuals and organizations, and food and groceries from local and national food companies.  Food is provided to 315 agencies across 16 WNC counties.

Community Mediation
Provides conflict resolution services to community individuals, groups, or agencies in dispute where parties maintain control of the process including the nature and scope of their agreements as an alternative to costly court litigation. 

Family Mediation
Provides mediation services for couples and families in disputes over, divorce, child support, custody, visitation rights, housing, and property, etc. or planning for family issues such as relationships, parenting, or placement of elderly or disabled family members.  

Family Visitation Center
Provides safe child exchanges, supervised visits, and therapeutic supervised visits for children with separated parents where intense family trauma, domestic violence or child abuse and neglect are present.

Restorative Youth Program
Youth mediation, education, and life skills training are the three components of this program, which serves youth ages six - 18.

Domestic Violence Prevention Project
Provides free legal representation and advice to help women and children stop/prevent domestic violence and gain independence to live apart from their abusers.

Elder Law Project
Provides targeted outreach and training, agency collaborations and free client representation to assist low-income, elderly clients to live independently, address end-of-life planning, and gain safety from financial, creditor, or physical abuse. 

Homelessness Prevention Project
Provides free legal representation and advice to help families and individuals address housing crises and stabilize their housing.

Immigrant Self-Sufficiency
Provides free legal representation and advice to help low-income immigrants with limited English proficiency to address clients’ ability to work, be self-sufficient, and meet basic needs.

Dental Health Services
Provides primary dental care to low-income, uninsured county residents. 

HIV Treatment Adherence Services
Provides intensive support and services for low-income and/or disabled individuals diagnosed with HIV/AIDS.  Clients can access professional counseling, health care, information and referrals, transportation, and up to two nutritious meals per day.

Interlace
Provides up to 18 months of transitional housing, case management and support services for women and their children who become homeless due to domestic violence.

Mental Health Services

Child Care
Provides day care and other support services for children ages 6 weeks to kindergarten.

MotherLove
Pairs teen mothers with experienced mentors, provides a support group, and works toward keeping young mothers in school.  Staff also provides adolescent pregnancy prevention programming.

New Choices
Provides services that assist participants move out of financial crisis toward economic self-sufficiency, including counseling, referrals, a support group and free Drop-in Child Care.

Preventive Health

Provides after-school and summer camp program targeting middle-school students who need help staying in school, avoiding juvenile crime and delinquency, and developing good behavioral and social skills.
