Offers a worldwide communications service between members of the U.S. armed forces and their families during times of family crisis.
Offers volunteer opportunities for all ages including blood services, disaster services, health and safety services, and financial development. A language bank is also provided by volunteer interpreters.
Provides prompt relief for victims of disasters ranging from house fires to blizzards, floods, and hurricanes, including food, shelter, clothing, case management, and damage assessment as needed.
Provides educational training courses such as first aid, CPR, automated external defibrillator (AED), swimming, life guarding, home health care, back injury prevention, baby sitting, pet first aid, prevention of disease transmission, including HIV/AIDS.

Provides free screenings for glaucoma and vision, offers Diabetes screening for $1.00 (fasting required), recycles used eyeglasses, provides eye glasses and eye exams to low-income residents in our community, and provides vision re-screenings to all schools in Buncombe County.

Provides short term respite care for children ages infant to six whose families are temporarily unable to care for them due to emergency or crises.
Provides transitional care for girls ages 16-21 who are moving from an institutional or foster care setting toward independent living as adults.
Provides highly structured day treatment program serving youth who have been suspended or expelled from school and adjudicated by the Juvenile Court.
Provides in-home counseling, case management, and support to families referred by the juvenile court system.
Provides short-term emergency care for up to six youths age 18 or younger who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect.
Project Home Base is a family preservation/reunification program. Staff work with families in their homes, usually for 10 – 12 weeks, with the goal of building on family strengths to change the necessary systems to help change the child's behavior.
Provides quality respite care for children with serious emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs and their families.
Provides short-term, emergency shelter for up to six youths (ages 7 to 17) who are homeless or have run away.

Provides crisis intervention, assessment, and counseling services for children and their families following the disclosure of abuse.

Provides leadership to improve the lives of children, youth and their families in Buncombe County. Services include educating elected officials and community members on children’s issues through an annual Child Watch tour, a Lecture Series, and legislative advocacy. Also teaches under-represented groups the skills to advocate for themselves.
Strengthens local families in the Emma community by educating & supporting parents, meeting basic needs (food, clothing, housing/utilities), providing educational and enrichment experiences for children and engaging residents in community problem solving & planning.
Supports the academic success of at-risk students in three low wealth communities, with a focus on homework assistance, enrichment activities, and increasing parental involvement.

Provides information and case assistance helping adults age 60 and older and their caregivers to identify individual needs and programs and services best suited to meet those needs.

Recruits girls from resource-deprived neighborhoods in Buncombe County and provides activities that promote self-esteem, mentoring, teamwork, public service and interpersonal skills.

Prevention program for 3rd – 8th graders that encourages self-respect and healthy living by focusing on the unique challenges faced by adolescent girls. The 14-week program combines training for a non-competitive 5k (3.1 miles) running event with uplifting, self-esteem enhancing team exercise activities and a community service project.

Staff assist victims of domestic violence in developing a safety plan, filing for and obtaining a legal order of protection, and preparing for their civil cases.
Provides counseling services for victims of domestic violence, including a 24-hour crisis line, individual counseling and support groups.
Offers short-term, emergency shelter for battered women and their children, where residents can participate in support groups and access emergency food, clothing and transportation.
Offers professional training and public education in recognizing, treating, and preventing domestic violence.

MANNA Packs for Kids – MANNA FoodBank’s backpack Program - helps to assure that children at risk of hunger over the weekend are provided with supplemental food items, fresh fruits and vegetables, and personal care products.
The FoodBank solicits donated food from individuals and organizations, and food and groceries from local and national food companies. Food is provided to 315 agencies across 16 WNC counties.

Provides conflict resolution services to community individuals, groups, or agencies in dispute where parties maintain control of the process including the nature and scope of their agreements as an alternative to costly court litigation.
Provides mediation services for couples and families in disputes over, divorce, child support, custody, visitation rights, housing, and property, etc. or planning for family issues such as relationships, parenting, or placement of elderly or disabled family members.
Provides safe child exchanges, supervised visits, and therapeutic supervised visits for children with separated parents where intense family trauma, domestic violence or child abuse and neglect are present.
Youth mediation, education, and life skills training are the three components of this program, which serves youth ages six - 18.

Pairs teen mothers with experienced mentors, provides a support group, and works toward keeping young mothers in school. Staff also provides adolescent pregnancy prevention programming.
