If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be? I would love to have dinner with Maya Angelou. When I was a junior in high school my mother took me to hear Maya Angelou speak at USC in Spartanburg. She was electrifying. I remember the strength and warmth and beauty and power that Ms. Angelou shared with us as if it was yesterday. Plus it felt as if she was speaking right to me. I feel quite sad that we must live in a world without her since her death last year, and at the same time I overflow with gratitude for the love, strength, direction and so much more that she left us through her writing.
Why do you LIVE UNITED? It is wonderful to work for place whose mission is a strong, caring community. My part in that work is via 2-1-1 which connects folks in the community not only with important resources, but sometimes even more importantly, to kindness and a listening ear.
