We believe that the people in our community, the people who Give, Advocate and Volunteer, are pretty spectacular people and they deserve a bright light shone upon them.

Taylor Gregg is one of those people. Taylor is a Premier Relationship Banker with First Citizens Bank. She has eight years experience as a banker, specifically assisting in financial planning as it relates to wealth, lending needs, and insurance for her clients and their families. Taylor joined the WLC last year as part of the Step-Up program and immediately became an active member.

Why do you volunteer and give to United Way?

United Way impacts my local community. I can see the program put in place, carried out, and making an impact directly where I live to the people who need it most.

What small act of kindness were you once shown that you will never forget?

My mother was a single mom. I saw her give everything that she had monetarily and otherwise to me growing up. She was always involved in her community, and even though not by money but by her works. I learned from her that self-sacrifice is more rewarding when it’s given out of a humble heart.

What makes someone a hero?

Humility and selflessness.

What activities make you lose track of time?

Spending time with my twin boys.

What’s something new you recently learned about yourself?

I love to wear dresses! Who knew! I used to always where dress pants, and now dresses have become my life saver for a quick outfit in one simple piece. It’s the little things!

What three questions do you wish you knew the answers to?

  • What came first, the chicken or the egg?
  • Who created yoga pants?
  • Do dogs go to heaven?

What is the best advice you can offer to young women and young men as they start their careers?

Be open to constructive criticism (always), and never give up on what you want in life. Your dream is never worth giving up on!
