When you choose to give to United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County's Community Investment Fund, you join your neighbors in creating real change in the areas of Education, Financial Stability and Health. Your gift, no mattter the size, fuels four key strategies that improve lives and strengthen our community:

  • Community Partnerships - grants and contracts that fund the work of local nonprofit organizations tackling key issues in our community;
  • Community School - building partnerships and making investments that support students, families and communities using middle schools as hubs of support;
  • NC 2-1-1 Asheville Center - is a 24/7 information and referral service that is a part of a statewide system connecting people to the help they need;
  • and finally, our volunteer center, Hands On Asheville-Buncombe mobilizes more than 3,000 volunteers every year.

JOIN A Group

In addition to being a part of community change, you get to join other donors at networking, social and educational events throughout the year. Learn more about our group for young leaders - Highland Circle, Women United, and our Peaks and Tocqueville Societies.

GIVE in the Workplace

Many donors give through their workplace, as United Way partners with many local and national employers to hold workplace giving campaigns each year. If your employer participates with United Way, talk to your CEO or Human Resources Department and ask how to make a donation.

GIVE Securities

Gifts of appreciated securities can be deducted at their full market value from your adjusted gross income. Such gifts also avoid the liability for capital gains tax, thus providing you with a double tax benefit. Check with your tax advisor to know what your tax benefits will be.
