Givens Communities has a mission to improve lives through communities, services, and outreach. We apply our vision of expanding the possibilities for aging through our four communities for older adults in North Carolina. Having established our first community over forty years ago, Givens has become a leader in the industry. We leverage our experience and expertise to help adults thrive. Originally established by the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church, Givens Communities can be trusted to lead the way in making a difference in the lives of older adults.
OUR VALUES
We fulfill our mission and vision by providing over 1,500 residents with a variety of market-rate and affordable housing options. We also extend our vision into the region by touching more than 6,000 lives annually through outreach efforts and partnerships with other nonprofits such as United Way
WHY UNITED WAY
Givens Communities has chosen to partner with United Way because we believe in their mission and the vast support they provide to the community we live and work in. Many of our residents and team members engage with United Way in various capacities, whether it is to support financially, to volunteer, or to utilize the services they offer.
There are so many different ways United Way supports our communities. Their work to support seniors resonates deeply with us at Givens as we embark to put support services in place for all types of seniors as well. Education initiatives to help students be successful will impact our organization in the future by helping to better equip our future workforce with the skill set they need. United Way is involved in so many aspects of our community and our work intersects in many ways, making this a valuable partnership for us all.
