Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am originally from the DC area where I spent many years in the food service industry working as a chef and general manager. I relocated to Asheville in 2009 where my career took a segue into senior living retirement food service. I found that experience to be one of the richest in my career path.
Give us a glimpse into your role at United Way. How do you help us fulfill our mission? What are you most excited about accomplishing as a team?
I am so honored to be on the Resource Development team. This work gives me the opportunity to align my desire to make a positive difference with my job. I am most excited about co-creating the Retire United Affinity Group.
What’s your favorite thing about our community?
I decided to move to Asheville because of the mountains, access to amazing hiking trails, great live music, and the diversity of our communities. One of my favorite things about Asheville is the kindness and compassion that I have witnessed.
What would we find you doing when you aren’t at work?
Cooking, hiking, entertaining, gardening, and repeat!
Do you have any podcast, book, music, or movie recommendations?
"Shantaram" by Gregory David Roberts is a must-read. I enjoy listening to "The Moth Radio Hour."
