Finally, the one event everyone wants to attend has come back to Asheville — live and in person — United Way’s epic Lip Sync Battle. So are you ready? Think you have what it takes? Well then, BRING IT!
We’re looking for 10 teams that want to throw down, strut their stuff, and show their talent by registering to perform in this year’s United Way Lip Sync Battle. There can only be one victor in the battle for the ultimate bragging right — Asheville Buncombe's greatest Lip Sync team.
This year’s theme is the 2000s, which means your team can choose any song between 1999 and 2009 for your performance. So what are you waiting for? Grab your co-workers, neighbors, or family members, dust off those low-rise jeans, rummage for that old iPod and get ready to DROP IT LIKE IT’S HOT. Form your team now.
Cash Prizes:
1st place — $500
2nd place — $250
3rd place — $150

To register your team read the rules and regulations below and fill out and submit the registration form. We can’t wait to see you on stage!
Rules & Regulations
- The competition is open to 10 teams. Completed forms must be submitted by October 14, before 5:00 pm.
- Teams can range in size from 1 to 10 people. You must be 16 years of age to compete on a team. All team member names must be included on the registration form below. Only individuals listed on the registration form can perform.
- Teams may use props; these props must be included on the registration form to be approved by the UWABC Committee. Props not included on the registration form cannot be used in the performance. Fog machines, bubble machines, fire, water, and glitter are prohibited.
- Music must be submitted with the below registration form by October 14 before 5:00 pm. THIS IS A FAMILY-FRIENDLY EVENT. Songs must be the clean version; no explicit versions will be accepted.
- The maximum time limit is three minutes per performance. After three minutes, the music will fade out.
The competition will be judged in these categories:

Actual Lip Syncing Abilities: How well the performer(s) lip-sync the lyrics of the song.

Creativity: How original and creative can you make the performance? Don’t just act out what you've seen before, add your own flair.
- Stage Presence & Choreography: BRING IT! Engage the audience, dance, smile, and make eye contact with the judges…have fun!
Each category will be worth 10 points. In case of a tie, the act with the highest lip sync score will win. The judges’ decisions are final.
Register your team by filling out the form below. All fields must be completed to register successfully. And don't forget to upload the song your team will be performing. Acceptable audio file formats include mp3, mp4, ogg, and wav.
