I have a Bachelors Degree in Outdoor Education and Environmental Science and a Masters in Education. My work history centers being in and out of the school system and working with local nonprofits.
Give us a glimpse into your role at United Way. How do you help us fulfill our mission? What are you most excited about accomplishing as a team?
As a Community School Coordinator in a highly diverse school in Asheville, I want to help forge connections and build community. I aim to do this through a balance of strengthening programs already in existence as well as spearheading new projects based on the needs, feedback, and passions of our community
What’s your favorite thing about our community?
I love the authenticity and diversity of the people within this community. There is a willingness to come together for common goals as a team through highlighting the uniqueness of the individuals.
What would we find you doing when you aren’t at work?
I love backpacking/hiking, cycling, thrifting, reading, travelling, rock climbing, time with friends, and cuddles with my cat.
Do you have any podcast, book, music, or movie recommendations?
I am always a fan of NPR podcasts (Invisibilia and Hidden Brain)
