Vans Donates 144 Pairs of Shoes to Buncombe County Volunteers

This past week, Vans generously donated 144 pairs of shoes to volunteers who have shared their time with local nonprofits through our volunteer center to support the community through the COVID-19 pandemic. In the past eight weeks, volunteers have donated 7,000 hours to organizations ranging from MANNA Foodbank to Salvation Army to ABCCM and more. Volunteerism through the coronavirus has spiked 50% higher than at this same time last year and we're incredibly grateful to everyone who has generously shared their time to support nonprofits serving our community through this challenging time.

WLOS Names Volunteers Persons of the Week

"I think this is a great way to say thank you for everything that you're doing, leaving your house every day, putting your health on the line," Asheville Vans Store Manager Jennifer Bubenik shared with WLOS.

WLOS named all of these volunteers their 'Persons of the Week' and shared coverage of this kind considerate donation. "I feel like this is the time to volunteer," Salvation Army volunteer Lindsey Yow told WLOS while picking out her Vans shoes. "More than ever we need to come together and help each other."
