Message from Dan Leroy, President/CEO of United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County
Social impact organizations like United Way have a role to play in fighting for climate justice, and we’re excited to be working with the Green Built Alliance and Blue Ridge Power to install solar panels on our headquarters at South French Broad in downtown Asheville. The purpose and central location of United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County's (UWABC) building creates a powerful opportunity for our organization to serve as a model for businesses and other nonprofits, encouraging more widespread adoption of clean energy in our community.
An investment in renewable energy will reduce our building’s energy needs by sixty percent, resulting in nearly $20,000 in annual savings which can be reinvested in our community partners who serve youth and families across Buncombe County.
Please join us in supporting renewable energy for our building so that we can invest more in students, families, and community partners throughout Buncombe County!
There are four simple ways you can support our renewable energy project to ensure cost savings are re-directed in support of students and families:
- Give online using the form below.
- Give a gift of stock
- Give via check—mail to:
