Community Catalysts: Celebrating the United For Youth Grants

United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County recently held a community celebration United for Youth Grant Celebration at the charming event space Circa 29 within the historic downtown S&W building. This intimate gathering was a testament to collaboration and innovation, honoring the remarkable 2023 United for Youth Grant recipients while commemorating the groundbreaking efforts of all participants. This celebration was intended to honor the intense work that UWABC has conducted with people across the community.  This ambitious new grant design is the community investment process that community members lead. This has resulted in a fundamental shift in how United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County invests in community individuals, organizations, and initiatives.

The event buzzed with camaraderie as the floor opened up to a diverse array of voices. From the community-elected committee members to the passionate grant recipients, UWABC CEO Dan Leroy, and even the young stars of our community, each shared their unique perspectives. It was an evening teeming with warmth and friendship, resonating with shared visions for a brighter future.

Attendees praised the innovative spirit woven into the grant process, sparking inspiration throughout Buncombe County. The profound impact of these initiatives echoed in the heartfelt testimonials of those present, underscoring the community's dedication to fostering positive change. The United for Youth Grant Celebration wasn't just an event; it was a testament to the power of collective action and a communal way to kick off a new grant process!
