We cannot fully express our gratitude for the many individuals from across the country who stepped up and made gifts to support our community.
This page is dedicated to the growing list of people who made significant efforts through special events and other creative efforts.

If you are on social, you've probably seen some of the clever skits that Kim and Penn Holderness create. As fellow North Carolinians, the duo felt compelled to take action. They designed t-shirts to raise money for several nonprofits in our area. Thank you Kim and Penn for your gift of $17K (and for always making us laugh)!

Tennessee Football showed up for our region during a recent game. Wearing a "Mountain Strong" decal on their helmets, the team brought attention and support for the work of the East Tennessee Foundation, One SC Fund, and United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County. Thank you!!!

Author Ron Autrey reached out to us recently to let us know that while on a book tour he and his wife Hilah would be raising funds for a nonprofit dear to their hearts, K9s For Warriors, United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County and Lake Toxaway Charitities. We are honored by this $10K contribution to our relief efforts.
Here are some more people and companies to CELEBRATE!
Atlantic Packaging, a Charlotte-based business, held a fundraising event and set up a matching fund to support our work. 67 employees from their company stepped up and with their help, raised over $35K!
A compilation album, The Hell of Helene | Songs for Appalachian Relief, was released to raise funds for five organizations, including United Way and BeLoved. Check out the album here.
Every year the Knoxville based, Appalachian Mountain Bike Club, hosts a raffle. This year they raised $59,812 and directed funds to five United Ways within the affected areas that the Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association operates. We sincerely appreciate the $11K+ that will be used in our recovery funding phase. Read their Press Release here.
Can we get a shout out for The Holdouts? They held a show in Charlotte on Dec 19 and just sent us $500 they raised for our work!

Every Gift Is Significant
Our office walls are filled with cards and notes from people across this nation—sharing words of encouragement and hope in this dark time. Some have experienced firsthand the beauty of our community and want us to heal, and others have navigated life after a natural disaster and want us to know we are not alone.
All paused from their busy lives to take action on behalf of people they never met.
We will forever be humbled by the opportunity to steward those funds and ensure they support those in our community still recovering from this devastating disaster.
