Kris Dionne

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

Kris Dionne is the Associate Director of Donor Engagement at United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County. After leading a successful career in sales and banking, Kris felt called to follow her heart and pursue work that would allow her to make a bigger impact on the local community.  In 2014, she joined United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County’s Development Team. A self-proclaimed “Mom Boss”, Kris juggles career and family. She is married to her high school sweetheart, Nick and they have two children, Max (10) and Claire (7).

Give us a glimpse into your role at United Way. How do you help us fulfill our mission? What are you most excited about accomplishing as a team?

A connector and relationship builder by nature and nurture, Kris has been able to leverage these skills to build meaningful relationships and connect individuals to the work of United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County.  She is the staff lead to our core affinity groups and giving society: Highlands Circle, Women United, and Peaks Society.

What’s your favorite thing about our community?

"I love the giving and generous spirit of our community."

What would we find you doing when you aren’t at work?

"Spending time with my family!  We love to bike, hike, play tennis, and ski in the winter!"

I love podcasts and have many favorites!  A few favorites are Serial, How I Built This, Revisionist History, and This American Life.
