Most North Carolinian families with children received a $335 coronavirus relief payment in the fall of 2020 to help support virtual schooling and childcare costs. Eligible families who did not receive that check are eligible to apply again through May 31, 2021. These $335 payments are offered by the N.C. Department of Revenue's Extra Credit Grant Program are for individuals with a dependent child who was 16 or younger at the end of 2019. If a family was not required to file a state tax return, they may still be eligible for the $335 payment. Families who have already received the $335 grant are not eligible under the new law.
