Community Engagement Markets Help Meet Need through COVID-19

As a response to food insecurity through COVID-19, Buncombe County Government has partnered with United Way and MANNA Foodbank to offer Community Engagement Markets, providing free food boxes to local residents.

Find Food ResourcesYou can find a complete list of FREE food resources, including Community Engagement Markets, throughout Buncombe County in partnership with multiple local organizations HERE.

"Many of our regular volunteers are elderly or have health issues so they can't help us like they used to (packaging and distributing food boxes through the Free Community Market during COVID-19). We simply could not serve the number of people that we are able to right now without the help of United Way's volunteer center." - Janice Ianniello, Montmorenci UMC

Volunteer: If you're healthy, at low risk, and able to volunteer, please see our volunteer center Hands On Asheville Buncombe for opportunities to support Community Engagement Markets and more as we continue to move through COVID-19 together.
