UPDATE: Starting December 31, residents who are unable to acquire drinking water themselves should call 828 251-1122 to request delivery. 211 will no longer take those calls. For further details and updates directly from the city: https://www.ashevillenc.gov/.../city-of-asheville.../

Like so many of you, we're hopeful that the water system is on its way to getting back online, and people will begin to see service restored.

If you missed the report by WLOS ABC 13, there are some resources available to help wlos.com/.../need-water-heres-where-to-find-it-in...

For those of you unable to find or purchase water, Hearts With Hands will be hosting a free distribution site in Swannanoa.

And, for those unable to afford water or without the ability to get to the distribution site, United Way's NC 211 will support the City of Asheville by taking requests to have the fire department deliver water to your home.

Please dial 2-1-1 between 9 am and 7 pm to submit a request for water deliveries by the fire department if you cannot afford water or have transportation to pick some up.

Applications will be taken until the crisis is over.
