Over the past 15 years or so I've been a sporadic, yet regular client of OnTrack Financial Education.
I've taken advantage of their one on one financial counseling services when I was laid off and the debt got to be too much. I've participated in savings classes, got my taxes done by their great volunteers (shout out to Sherman and Charlotte), and four years ago we took the First Time Homebuyer Class and finally bought our own place! You can say I've got a soft spot in my heart for the staff of OnTrack and how they help people tackle their financial worries and realize their dreams.
So when Celeste Collins (Executive Director of OnTrack), called us to see if someone from United Way could join her on her radio program to talk about our work, I jumped at the chance to do it alongside my colleague, Kevin Montgomery. Sure, I love the chance to talk about the work that we're doing here at United Way and invite others to join our efforts to unite people, improve lives and strengthen our community. But I also just wanted a chance to publicly thank Celeste and her team for what they do every day.
