Stronger Together: 2026 U4Y Block Party

Joy is moving—literally. It makes us want to get up and dance, sing, play, or hug the people we love. But joy’s movement takes other forms, too. It helps us connect, share our values, learn from one another, and work together toward a more united community.
That’s why this year’s United for Youth Block Party theme was “Stronger Together: Bring on the Joy.” We know that, especially in this moment, joy can bring us closer, strengthen our community, and remind us of what we have in common. Since the first United for Youth Block Party in 2022, the event has grown every year—and this year was no exception.

But the Block Party didn’t come together in just one Friday at Pack Square Park. It took teams of volunteers spending hours setting up, welcoming families, and making sure the park stayed safe, clean, and full of joy. It took business leaders like Cigna Healthcare and AVL Technologies investing in the experience by supporting the Volunteer Lounge, Community Resilience Tent, and STEAM Tent. We also couldn’t miss the amazing Physio Physical Therapy and Wellness, along with AVL Medical Massage & Esthetics LLC, who were stationed under the Community Resilience Tent and providing free massages and self-care for all.   And it took the incredible team at Slay the Mic Media, whose young people helped bring the entire event to life.

Their team is made up entirely of young people, from first-graders to college students, who took the lead throughout the Block Party. From stage management and DJing to interactive selfie booths and content creation, young people weren’t just participating—they were leading the way.

And, of course, they took center stage. Youth performers filled the Block Party with music, talent, and energy, creating a space where young people could showcase what they can do, feel empowered, and step into leadership roles. A huge shout-out to the Asheville Middle School Cheer Team, DJ Tennezzee & DJ Oli, School of Rock Academy, and our solo violinist, Mei, who filled the stage and the whole park with joy!

Because that’s what United for Youth is all about: creating opportunities for young people to lead, grow, and thrive—and building a community strong enough to show up for them.
